Installation

NeuBird Desktop is the native desktop client for NeuBird AI — the Console, Signals, and Analyst investigation views in a dedicated app. It renders in your operating system’s built-in webview (WebView2 on Windows, WKWebView on macOS), so there is no bundled browser and the download stays small.

  • A NeuBird AI account in an organization you can sign in to. Contact NeuBird if you don’t have one yet.
  • A supported operating system — see the table below.
  • A default web browser — the app opens it to complete single sign-on.

You can get NeuBird Desktop two ways:

  • From the NeuBird Console — sign in to your deployment (https://<your-deployment>.app.neubird.ai) and open Try the desktop app in the sidebar. The Console serves the correct build for your detected operating system and architecture.
  • Direct download — from the latest release, pick the file for your platform (see the install steps below).

  1. Download the installer for your architecture: NeubirdDesktopShellSetup-x64-<version>.exe for standard machines, or NeubirdDesktopShellSetup-arm64-<version>.exe for Snapdragon / Copilot+ devices.

  2. Run the installer and approve the User Account Control prompt. NeuBird Desktop installs per machine, under C:\Program Files.

  3. When it finishes, launch NeuBird Desktop from the Start menu.

The app installs to:

C:\Program Files\NeuBird, Inc.\NeuBird Desktop\neubird-desktop.exe

Silent / unattended install (for imaging or scripted rollout):

Terminal window
Start-Process -Wait -FilePath .\NeubirdDesktopShellSetup-x64-<version>.exe -ArgumentList '/S'

  1. Launch NeuBird Desktop. On first run, choose your mode — Co-Worker (the SRE workbench) or Team Lead (the manager surface). You can switch any time from the account menu.

  2. Choose Continue with SSO. Your default browser opens NeuBird’s sign-in page.

  3. Enter your NeuBird AI email address, then choose your organization if you belong to more than one.

  4. The browser returns you to the app, now signed in.

Open the About dialog inside the app to see the installed version. On Windows you can also read it from the file itself:

Terminal window
(Get-Item "C:\Program Files\NeuBird, Inc.\NeuBird Desktop\neubird-desktop.exe").VersionInfo.ProductVersion

NeuBird Desktop upgrades are manual — download the newer build and install it over your current one. Your configuration and signed-in session are preserved either way.

  1. Download the newer installer for your architecture from the latest release.

  2. Open the disk image and drag NeuBird Desktop to your Applications folder.

  3. Launch it from Applications.

Configuration, logs, and your session are stored under your user profile — not in the install folder — which is why they survive upgrades and reinstalls.

Uninstall from Settings → Apps → Installed apps → NeuBird Desktop → Uninstall, or run the bundled uninstaller:

C:\Program Files\NeuBird, Inc.\NeuBird Desktop\uninstall.exe

Silent uninstall:

Terminal window
Start-Process -Wait -FilePath "C:\Program Files\NeuBird, Inc.\NeuBird Desktop\uninstall.exe" -ArgumentList '/S'

Sign-in does not return to the app. Make sure a default browser is set and can reach *.neubird.ai. Complete the SSO flow in the browser, then switch back to the app window.

“Windows protected your PC” (Windows) or a Gatekeeper block (macOS). These appear only for unsigned builds — see the install steps above for how to proceed.

With the app installed and signed in, open the Console to connect a data source and start your first investigation.
